When the days grow shorter and the first snow covers the rooftops, a very special time begins in the Saas Valley. The villages are aglow, the air is filled with the scent of mulled wine, and you can feel Christmas approaching everywhere. Here are our favorite Advent moments for you.
Christmas Markets: Browse, Marvel, Enjoy
The Christmas market in Saas-Grund kicks things off on November 22, 2026. From 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., you’ll find plenty of handmade gift ideas in the multipurpose building. On December 4 and 5, the village square and the gym in Saas-Fee will be transformed into a festive Christmas market. It’s open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day, and with a warm drink in hand, you can leisurely stroll from stall to stall.
Winter Wonderland: A Path of Lights Through the Forest
From December 12, 2026, through January 16, 2027, the approximately three-kilometer-long forest trail from Saas-Fee to Saas-Almagell will be illuminated every evening from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Along the way, you can read a Christmas story at your own pace. Our tip: Wear comfortable shoes and take your time. For us, this walk is one of the most beautiful moments of winter.
